Community foundation announces fall grant recipients

  The Smoky Hills Charitable Foundation awarded $36,455 during its fall grant cycle. Projects were funded through the community foundation’s Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund. The following organizations received funding: Ellsworth County Fair Association, $9,386 to help purchase and install a storage shed to house its growing inventory. Kanopolis Sunflower Civic Club, $8,000 to purchase 15 pole-mount snowflakes to decorate the main streets of Kanopolis for Christmas. Lang Memorial Library, Wilson, $4,813 for an outdoor sign with a changeable message board. The Smoky Hills Charitable Foundation needs your help this month! During October, every $1 donated to the Smoky Hills Charitable Foundation will be matched with a $1.50 from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation! If we reach our $50,000 goal, our community will receive a total of $125,000 to support community grants and foundation operations.
