Smoky Hills Charitable Foundation accepting grant applications. ELLSWORTH, Kan.—The Smoky Hills Charitable Foundation is now accepting applications for spring grants. Online applications are due Monday, March 15, 2021. Last spring, the charitable foundation awarded the Ellsworth County Fair Association with funding to provide a better and safer county fair. The fair experience was enhanced for both spectators and attendees.   This funding allowed the fair association to upgrade the sound system with additional speakers and make repairs to the bleachers. Smoky Hills Charitable Foundation scholarships available ELLSWORTH, Kan.—The Smoky Hills Charitable Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2021-2022 school year. This year, over $18,000 is available to Ellsworth County students through the foundation’s nine scholarship funds: Caryle Jean Bender Memorial Scholarship, for graduating high school seniors from Ellsworth High School or college freshman or sophomore students that have graduated from Ellsworth High School planning to major in medical technology, pre-medicine or biological sciences.Charles and Velma Westerman Scholarship, for graduating high school seniors or graduates of Ellsworth High School.Dawn L.
